The Alcazar 540.WB is a round recessed downlight 92 mm across, its outer bezel white and semi-matt, the ring seated inside it black and polished to a high gloss. From below you therefore see a white circle with a dark "eye" at its centre: the fitting neither disappears into the ceiling nor pretends to be an ornament. The body is CNC-cut aluminium and the whole thing weighs just 115 g.

360° rotation and 25° tilt

The inner ring both tilts and turns: a full 360° in the horizontal plane and 25° of tilt in the vertical. In practice that means the light can be aimed at a picture wall, a shelf or a worktop after installation, and redirected later without taking the fitting out. The ring is also removable, which makes lamp changes and cleaning easier.

Gx5.3 socket, GU10 optional

As standard the fitting has a Gx5.3 lampholder on 2 × 0.75 mm² lead, so it takes MR16 lamps at 12 V — which require an external driver. The manufacturer also offers a GU10 version for 230 V if you would rather avoid a separate transformer. Maximum rating is 50 W for halogen, though Lumifall recommends LED lamps, which deliver the same light without heating the ceiling void.

General light or accent — the lamp decides

This is a fitting with no optic of its own, so the character of the light depends entirely on the lamp you put in it. A wide-beam reflector (around 60°) gives room-filling general light; a narrow one (around 24° or less) draws a defined pool — over a worktop, a picture, a display case. Changing the lighting character here costs no more than changing a lamp.

Spring-clip mounting

The fitting drops into an 80 mm hole and is held by spring clips that compress as it goes in and open out behind the board. That fixing works in plasterboard, in suspended ceilings and in joinery, and removal is simply a matter of pulling the fitting back out. IP20 protection assigns it to dry interiors.

Where it works

Ø92 mm with an 80 mm cut-out is the most common downlight size, so the Alcazar drops into standard ceiling layouts without recalculating the grid. It suits a living room, bedroom, kitchen, hallway or office — anywhere several smaller, individually aimed points serve better than a single one in the middle of the ceiling. The white bezel disappears against a white ceiling, and the black ring cuts glare, because a dark surface around the lamp reflects less.
