REIF is a small recessed downlight, 6.8 cm across, in which a black ring surrounds a deeply coned gold reflector. That gold cone is the whole idea: it warms the colour of the reflected light and keeps the fitting from reading as a black hole in the ceiling when it is off.

A deeply set lamp

The GU10 sits well back inside the housing, so at normal viewing angles you do not see the source itself – that limits glare and makes REIF usable over a table or desk, where shallow-set downlights can be tiring.

Before you order – installation dimensions

This is the part that matters with a recessed fitting. The cut-out is 6.5 cm and the installation depth with the lamp fitted is 8 cm – that is the clear space you need above the ceiling. The fitting itself is 5.5 cm tall and 6.8 cm in outer diameter.

Light source

The fitting takes one GU10 lamp up to 10 W – in practice an ordinary replaceable LED that you choose yourself for colour and output. It is not dimmable. Protection class II means double insulation, so no earth conductor is required.
