BUGSY I is a Rendl wall spot: a mirrored glass shade 6 cm across on a chrome arm, screwed to the wall through a square base plate. The whole thing stands just 15 cm tall and weighs 380 g – a fitting meant to aim light, not to occupy the wall.
The moving head
This lamp's most important figure is not optical but mechanical: the head turns 350° on its axis and tilts 45°. In practice that means one fitting can wash a picture, graze light along the wall, or point down over a bedhead – and be redirected after the furniture moves, without drilling again. The 350° range (rather than a full 360°) comes from the cable inside the arm, which has a stop to keep it from twisting.
Light source
The GU10 socket takes a lamp of up to 50 W on a 230 V supply, with no transformer – the fitting wires straight into the household circuit. The manufacturer recommends its own LED lamp, reference G11841; any other GU10 within the wattage limit will work too, and when choosing one it is worth remembering that with directional light it is the lamp's beam angle, not the fitting, that sets how wide the pool of light falls. No bulb is supplied.
Finish
The shade is mirror-coated glass; the base plate and arm are chromed steel. The mirrored glass does two things at once: it throws light forward like a reflector and – while the lamp is off – reads as a chrome cylinder, so the shade does not contrast with the base. Chrome is a gloss finish, so fingerprints show; a dry cloth is enough.
