What a T-connector is for

Track rarely runs in a single straight line. The T connector joins three lengths of track at right angles – it lets a branch leave the main run, towards a shop window, a fitting room or a back area. At the same time it carries the supply and all three circuits across the joint, so fittings on the branch stay on the same circuits as the rest of the installation.

The part measures 16.6 × 5.6 cm and weighs 0.15 kg – it is a system component, not a universal coupler.

"Right" – why that is not a detail

On three-circuit track, the side the live conductors sit on matters. The right-hand (RIGHT 2, T-R2) version sets the polarity so that circuit numbering matches on both sides of the joint. Ordering the left version instead of the right leaves the circuits swapped along the whole branch – the fittings come on with a different switch from the one planned.

Before ordering, check the direction of the run on the drawing and which side the branch falls on. The manufacturer lists the left-hand counterpart as a separate article.

The recessed version

This connector belongs to the CTLS RECESSED line – for track built into the ceiling and flush with its surface, not for surface-mounted track. CTLS surface and recessed profiles have different housings and different connectors; this part does not fit the surface version.

CTLS (Commercial Track Light System) is Nowodvorski's system for commercial use – shops, showrooms, galleries – where the lighting changes along with the display.

The 16 A / 3.7 kVA rating applies to the whole branch. With LED fittings of 20–30 W that is over a hundred fittings per circuit – in practice the breaker will be the limit, not the connector. Supply ~220–230 V, 50/60 Hz, protection class I (earth conductor required), ingress protection IP20 – dry interiors only.

Construction: plastic with copper conductors. Copper in the current paths matters at 16 A – it governs contact resistance and how warm the joint runs over years of service. The manufacturer gives 5 years of warranty.
