The Fabulook Rack in the Natural finish is a shelving unit 298 cm long and 221 cm tall — a piece that takes a whole wall and therefore stops being supporting furniture and becomes the reference frame for the room. At 58 cm deep the shelves hold not only books but ceramics, baskets and larger decorative objects.

Reclaimed teak

The frame is built from reclaimed teak sourced in Indonesia. Teak is a dense species naturally rich in oils, which translates into dimensional stability — on a piece this size that matters directly, because it keeps verticals and levels true for years. The reclaimed timber also brings the history of the material with it: surface irregularities, marks from earlier fixings and variation in grain tone are part of the product rather than a departure from standard.

The rack is made by hand, so dimensions, grain pattern and colour vary between pieces. The photograph shows the character of the collection rather than the exact unit that will arrive — with reclaimed material that is not a formal disclaimer but a real property of the product.

Care and conditions

The piece is for indoor use only. The manufacturer rules out outdoor use, including under cover — humidity and temperature swings lead to swelling and cracking, and such damage is not covered by the warranty. Dust the surface with a soft cloth or brush, and for a deeper clean use a lightly damp cloth with mild soap, then dry thoroughly. To keep the warm tone of the wood, apply oil or a sealant from time to time and keep the unit away from sources of moisture and from strong direct sunlight.
