FEMESA LE62472 is a round recessed downlight, 8.5 cm across with a 6 cm recess depth, in black aluminium. The LED module is integrated and part of the fitting: 14 W, 663 lm, 2700 K – noticeably warmer than the usual 3000 K, closer to incandescent light.

UGR <19 – the figure that decides comfort

This is the most important number on the fitting's data sheet, and the one least often printed in domestic lighting catalogues. UGR (Unified Glare Rating) describes discomfort glare – not whether the light is bright, but whether looking towards it becomes unpleasant. A value below 19 is the threshold required by standard for office workstations. In practice it means the source sits deep inside the housing and is not visible from a normal viewing angle – you can put a desk or a table under a row of these and not squint.

Colour fidelity and beam

Colour rendering of CRI >90 puts FEMESA above the ordinary downlight (usually CRI 80): at that index, wood, fabrics and skin tones keep their natural colour, which matters where the fitting is the only light source. The 36° beam is moderately narrow – it does not throw a hard cone like 24°, but nor does it spill light across a whole room; it is the angle for building a grid of points, not for lighting a room with a single fitting.

Installation and life

The recess needs 6 cm of depth above the ceiling. An IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry interiors; supply 230 V. Rated life is 30,000 hours, the manufacturer's warranty 3 years. Because the LED module is integrated, the whole fitting is replaced when it wears out – at 30,000 hours that is more than a decade of ordinary domestic use.
