ALGINE LINE CCT is a 595 × 595 × 15 mm LED panel rated 40 W with a flux of 4000 lm, a switchable colour temperature and a glare rating of UGR < 16. The driver is included.

UGR < 16 — the number you buy it for

UGR (Unified Glare Rating) describes how much a fitting dazzles someone looking toward it. An ordinary 600 × 600 prismatic panel sits around 22. The standard EN 12464-1 requires UGR ≤ 19 for office workstations, and for all-day screen work specifications increasingly call for UGR ≤ 16.

This panel meets that stricter threshold. In practice that means:

• no bright patch in your field of view when you sit beneath it and look horizontally — the commonest cause of eye strain in offices lit with cheap panels;
• weaker reflections on screens, so a monitor does not have to be angled "so the light doesn't hit it";
• a designer can use this panel where the specification calls for low glare, without moving to more expensive darklight-louvre fittings.

The beam spread is 80° — narrower than a prismatic panel's typical 120°, and it is that narrower distribution that produces the low glare figure.

Three colour temperatures in one fitting

The panel has a CCT function and runs at three temperatures: 3000 K (warm white), 4000 K (neutral) and 6000 K (cool daylight). That solves the problem that most often appears with panels after installation:

• 3000 K — reception, waiting area, consulting room, anywhere meant to feel welcoming;
• 4000 K — the default for offices and meeting rooms, neutral and untiring;
• 6000 K — plant rooms, quality control, places where alertness and fine detail matter.

One article number therefore covers a whole building, and if the colour turns out wrong for the room after fitting, the luminaire does not have to be replaced.

How much light, and over what area

4000 lm is the flux of the luminaire. Against the 500 lx standard for an office workstation, one panel realistically covers 7–9 m²; at 300 lx for a corridor or store, about 12–15 m².

Watch for two lumen figures on datasheets. The manufacturer gives a useful flux of 4650 lm — that is the LED module — and a luminous flux of 4000 lm, the light leaving the fitting. That is also where the declared 116 lm/W comes from, computed from the source; the luminaire's own efficacy is 100 lm/W. Use 4000 lm for lighting calculations.

Installation

• Two mounting modes: surface and recessed. In a 600 × 600 mm modular ceiling the panel drops into an existing cell; in plasterboard the cut-out is 565 × 565 mm. The surface-mounting frame is a separate accessory.
• Driver included — nothing to specify, but you do need room for it above the ceiling.
• Protection class II — no earth conductor. Supply 230 V / 50 Hz, current 180 mA, power factor 0.97.
• IP20, for indoor use, operating range −20 °C to +40 °C. Steel housing.
• Not dimmable. Life 50,000 h, 25,000 switching cycles — relevant in a corridor on a motion sensor.
• PZH certificate — approval required in healthcare and food-processing premises. CRI (RA) 80. Consumption 40 kWh/1000 h. Energy class F.
• Gross weight 3.35 kg. Trade pack 8 pcs, 56 pcs per pallet.
