ALGINE is a 595 × 595 × 10 mm LED panel rated 45 W with a flux of 4400 lm at 3000 K (warm white). The driver is included. Thickness is just 10 mm.
Three ways to mount it, out of one box
This is the feature that most often decides a panel purchase and most often goes unmentioned. ALGINE is intended for:
-
recessed mounting — in a 600 × 600 mm modular ceiling the panel drops into an existing cell; in plasterboard the cut-out is 575 × 575 mm;
-
surface mounting — on a concrete slab, using a mounting frame;
-
suspended mounting — on wires, as a fitting above a desk or table.
At 10 mm thick the surface version barely stands off the ceiling, and the recessed version needs minimal void above the board. Frames and suspension kits are accessories — the panel alone does not include them.
How much light, and over what area
4400 lm is the flux of the luminaire itself. Against the 500 lx standard for an office workstation, one panel realistically covers about 8–10 m², allowing for typical reflectances and a 2.7–3 m ceiling. A 20 m² room is normally planned with two.
Watch for two different lumen figures on datasheets. The manufacturer gives a useful luminous flux of 5850 lm — that is the LED module itself — and a luminous flux of 4400 lm, the light actually leaving the fitting. That is also where the manufacturer's quoted 130 lm/W comes from, computed from the source; the luminaire's own efficacy is 98 lm/W. Use 4400 lm for lighting calculations.
The figures that separate a good panel from a cheap one
-
SDCM ≤ 3 — colour consistency. When several panels go into one room this is the most important figure after flux: at SDCM 5–7 neighbouring panels visibly differ in their shade of white. At 3 the difference is imperceptible.
-
Power factor 0.95 — high. Across an installation of a dozen or more panels that means less current and less load on the circuit.
-
CRI (RA) 80, beam spread 120°.
-
Life L80B50 50,000 h — after 50,000 hours at least half the panels retain at least 80% of initial flux. MTBF 80,000 h.
-
25,000 switching cycles — relevant in a corridor or washroom on a motion sensor, where the fitting switches dozens of times a day.
-
PZH certificate — Polish National Institute of Hygiene approval, required in healthcare and food-processing premises.
Installation
-
SPECTRUM driver included — nothing to specify or buy separately; you do have to find room for it above the ceiling.
-
Protection class II — double insulated, no earth conductor. Supply 230 V / 50 Hz, current 200 mA.
-
IP20, IK06, housing in aluminium + plastic. For indoor use, operating range −20 °C to +40 °C.
-
Not dimmable; 3000 K is fixed.
- Gross weight 2.01 kg. Energy consumption 45 kWh / 1000 h. Energy class E.
