LOYA is a metal cylinder just 3.2 centimetres across, hung on an adjustable cable of between 64 and 140 cm. The built-in LED module draws 5 W and delivers 450 lm at 3000 K, and the body is finished in French gold.

Three centimetres across — that is the whole idea

At 3.2 cm, LOYA is among the narrowest pendants you can buy. That thinness has a purpose: hung on its own it all but disappears, while grouped in threes, fives or sevens it draws a composition made of nothing but vertical strokes, with no mass to weigh the room down. Groups are where this lamp is at its best — over a kitchen island, above a bar, in a stairwell at staggered heights, along a long table.

450 lumens is accent light

Five watts and 450 lumens is roughly what an old 40 W bulb gave. A single LOYA will not light a room — its job is to put a narrow pool of light on a surface or to build a rhythm through a space. The 3000 K colour is warm and close to incandescent, so it sits well with timber and brass. If the fitting is meant to give working light over a table, plan for three or more from the start.

French gold — how it differs from plain gold

French gold is a muted shade with grey and copper in it, closer to aged brass than to bright electroplated gold. It does not glitter, which keeps it from looking cheap next to matt surfaces and lets it hold its own beside timber, concrete or dark walls. The same LOYA model also comes in chrome and other finishes, so several shades can be combined in one room.

Installation and use

Suspension height adjusts between 64 and 140 cm and is set during installation; over a table, 70–80 cm above the top is the usual figure. The LED source is permanently built in and supplied with the fitting, so there is no bulb to choose. It runs on 230 V, is rated IP20 and belongs in dry rooms. Energy class C. The whole lamp weighs 0.7 kg, so no reinforced ceiling fixing is needed.
