The SLV LOGS IN is a square surface-mounted wall light, 10 cm wide and 7 cm high, that emits upwards and downwards. The built-in diode delivers 470 lm from 6 W in a warm 3000 K, with a high colour rendering index of CRI 90.

Two beams, one diode

The fitting does not light a room — it draws the wall. Light leaves at the top and the bottom, forming two symmetrical cones while the body itself stays dark. It is a way of setting a rhythm along a corridor, marking a stairwell or framing a bed without hanging anything overhead. Because the source is recessed, looking straight at the fitting you do not see the diode.

CRI 90 — unusual in this class

A colour rendering index of 90 sits well above the usual CRI 80. On a light aimed at a wall that is not an academic number: textured render, brick, wood and wallpaper show their real tone instead of going grey. Efficacy is 78 lm/W.

Supply: 100–240 V and protection class I

The fitting has a built-in driver and works across a wide 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz range — the LED module is fed internally at a constant 500 mA. It is protection class I, so a protective earth conductor is required; in an older installation without an earth that is worth checking before buying. Inrush current is 4.5 A for 30 µs, which only matters when many fittings share one switch on a single circuit.

The fitting is not dimmable and is not DALI capable — if a scheme needs control, the LOGS family also includes TRIAC-dimmable and DIM-TO-WARM variants.

Build and life

The body is aluminium in an aluminium/white finish. The IP20 rating restricts it to dry rooms; for outdoor use SLV offers LOGS WALL at IP65 in the same family. Declared life is 30,000 hours on the L70B50 criterion, and the manufacturer quotes energy use as 6 kWh per 1,000 hours. Net weight 0.503 kg. Warranty: 5 years.
