Zambelis 2552 wall light with natural alabaster, LED 5 W, 310 lm, 3000 K, brass, ø25 cm

Wall light 2552 from the Greek brand Zambelis Lights belongs to the Mineral Textures line. The lit element is a 25 cm disc of natural alabaster set on a ø10 cm brass base. The whole fitting is 27.5 cm tall and projects 10.5 cm from the wall.

Alabaster – every piece is different

This is not glass or a stone-effect plastic: the manufacturer specifies natural alabaster. The stone is translucent, so lit from behind it shows its own veining and differences in density – a warm, uneven glow that cannot be reproduced by printing on glass. The consequence is that the pattern and shade will vary from piece to piece; that is a property of the material, not a defect.

Light in a full sphere

The manufacturer gives the beam angle as 360°, in a sphere – the fitting does not aim light one way but lights the whole alabaster disc and returns a soft glow all around. Output is 310 lm from 5 W at a warm 3000 K, CRI 80. That is an amount of light for mood and accent – washing a bedroom wall, a hallway, beside a mirror – not for lighting a room.

Operating data

Supply 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz, 300 mA; the LED module itself runs at 12–21 V DC. The source is permanently built in and the fitting is not dimmable. Rated life is L70B50 30,000 hours, and colour consistency is SDCM < 4.2 – so several units in one room will show no visible difference in the shade of white. Energy efficiency class D, consumption 5 kWh/1000 h.

Mounting

Protection class I – a protective earth is required. IP20, so dry interiors only; alabaster is sensitive to moisture, which rules out a bathroom shower zone regardless of the IP figure. The fitting has no supply lead (it wires directly at the box) and needs no cut-out. Three-year warranty.
