Auria 76349 is a six-light ceiling fitting from the British brand Endon Lighting — a semi-flush mount measuring 71 cm across with a projection of only 30 cm.

A chandelier that fits under a low ceiling

This is the single most useful thing to know about the fitting. Auria reads as a sprawling chandelier — 71 cm in diameter is wider than a typical dining light — yet it drops only 30 cm below the ceiling, with no chain and no suspension.

That lets it go where a rod-hung chandelier would be impossible: a room with a 250 cm ceiling, a bedroom above the bed, a hallway, a stairwell. The sparkle and the scale survive; nobody walks into it.

Chrome, clear glass and beaded wire

Endon describes the finish as chrome plate & clear glass with chrome beaded wire — and that beaded wire is the detail that defines the piece. The structure is not a solid, heavy frame: it is an open cage of chromed wire formed into a globe, with six clear shades set inside it.

The effect works twice over. By day the fitting reads as a light, almost graphic outline that does not block the ceiling. Switched on, the clear glass does not diffuse, so each of the six points throws a hard, glittering pattern of reflections across the cage and onto the ceiling. This is a decorative fitting by design — its job is to sparkle, not to wash a room evenly with light.

Six G9 sockets — lamps not included

The fitting takes six G9 lamps, rated at 3 W each in the LED version the maker specifies, for roughly 18 W in total. Bulbs are not supplied, so the colour temperature and the light output are your choice.

Because the glass is clear, the lamp you pick is on show. Worth bearing in mind when ordering:

• 2700 K flatters the warm sheen of chrome; 4000 K gives the piece a cooler, more technical character.
• “Corn” lamps with visible diodes will be plainly seen through clear glass — opal or decorative G9 lamps look far better here.
• Six identical lamps from one batch is the only way to avoid colour differences between the shades.

Dimming

Endon lists the fitting as dimmable. Auria itself contains no control gear, though — it is six G9 sockets on mains voltage. Whether dimming actually works is decided by the dimmable G9 lamps and by a dimmer rated for LED loads. With six 3 W sources the total load is only about 18 W, below the minimum of many older leading-edge dimmers; this fitting needs a low-threshold LED dimmer.

Things to bear in mind

IP20 rules out bathroom zones 0–2 — Auria must not go over a bath or a shower. Protection class I means the ceiling box must carry an earth conductor; on old two-core wiring, check with an electrician before fitting.

At 71 cm across, measure the position before the light arrives: over a table it should leave clearance at both sides, and in the middle of a small room it can dominate the space. The maker publishes no luminous flux for the fitting, because the output depends entirely on the lamps you install.
