MARIETTA is a five-arm chandelier 50 cm across in an antique brass finish, with decorative clear glass rods. Height adjustable from 62 to 200 cm.
Glass rods instead of shades
This is what sets MARIETTA apart from a classical chandelier. Instead of five shades the fitting carries vertical rods of clear glass that diffuse the light by refraction rather than by frosting. The effect differs from opal glass: the light breaks into fine highlights along each rod, and the rod itself glows over its whole length.
The practical consequence: the glass is clear, so the bulb is visible. Endon names the matching sources outright — E14 LED filament lamps, candle or golf shape. A plain opal bulb will work but will kill the play of highlights that the fitting is built around. An empty lampholder shows — there is no shade to hide it.
Adjustment: a chain, not a cut cable
Height is set with a chain, not by cutting the cable once at installation. The 62–200 cm range is nearly 1.4 m of freedom, and the 1.5 m cable is clear, so it does not draw the eye when the fitting hangs low.
Reference points:
-
over a dining table: 70–85 cm from the surface to the bottom edge — with a 260 cm ceiling that puts the total drop around 130–145 cm, in the middle of the range;
-
in a room with a high ceiling the full 200 cm brings the fitting down to the right height without buying extensions;
-
in a walkway the bottom edge should not go below about 210 cm above the floor — i.e. close to the 62 cm setting.
How much light, and which bulb
-
5 × E14, maximum 7 W per socket — that is the per-lamp limit, not the whole fitting's. The manufacturer states outright that it is intended for E14 LED lamps.
- Five filament bulbs at about 5–7 W give roughly 2500–3500 lm together — enough for MARIETTA to be the main light over a table.
-
Bulbs are not included. Buying five at once, take them from one batch — differences in the shade of white are plainly visible in a fitting with exposed bulbs.
-
The fitting is dimmable, but the dimming is done by the bulb: both the dimmer and the lamps must be dimming-capable.
Installation — two things to check
-
Protection class I — an earth conductor is required. That is unusual among decorative chandeliers and a condition to confirm at the ceiling box before buying, not after.
-
Weight 4.85 kg (the manufacturer states 4.9 kg; gross 7.14 kg). A hook in plasterboard alone is not enough — you need an anchor into the slab or into the ceiling's load-bearing structure.
-
IP20 — dry interiors only.
The MARIETTA family — one of Endon's widest
The manufacturer notes that matching items are available. The collection includes, among others:
-
3- and 5-light chandeliers and a single pendant,
- a 4-light linear pendant — for a narrow table or an island,
-
MARIETTA Grand 7lt and the tiered versions: 16lt and Grand 21lt — for stairwells and double-height rooms,
-
ceiling lights (flush and 3lt semi-flush) and wall lights.
That makes it possible to light a whole home in one idiom — a flush fitting in the hall, wall lights in the bedroom, the chandelier over the table.
