Addison is a four-light bathroom wall light 82 cm wide, in polished chrome, with clear ribbed glass shades. Four 3 W G9 LED lamps are included.

Scaled to the mirror

Eighty-two centimetres will not fit above a small cabinet — this fitting was drawn for a wide mirror or a full vanity top. Four points spread along that length light the face evenly from above, without one strong source casting a hard shadow under the eyes. The 19.6 cm projection brings the light forward of the mirror rather than bouncing it straight off the glass.

Ribbed glass instead of opal

The shades are clear with vertical ribbing. Such a shade does not diffuse as heavily as opal glass — it breaks the light into fine vertical highlights, so the fitting keeps sparkle and visible texture instead of reading as a smooth white block. The price of that effect is that the lamp is partly visible: at 3 W per point it does not dazzle, but when replacing a lamp, stay with clear sources of similar size.

How much light

Each source gives 300 lm, four together 1200 lm at 3000 K — warm, close to a classic incandescent. The manufacturer states that the 3 W draw is equivalent to a 28 W filament lamp. A colour rendering index of 80 is fine for everyday use; anyone applying make-up or colouring hair in the bathroom would judge shades more faithfully at CRI 90+. Rated source life is 25,000 hours, and the G9 cap is replaceable — at end of life you change the lamp, not the fitting.

Bathroom installation

IP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction — the fitting suits a washbasin and the surroundings of a bath, but not the inside of a shower enclosure or the spray zone directly over a bath. It is protection class I, so an earth conductor must be connected. It weighs 5.81 kg, which at this span means fixing at two points at least, into a solid substrate — not into bare plasterboard without reinforcement. The manufacturer offers spare glass under number GS1070, so a single broken shade need not mean replacing the whole fitting. Warranty: 2 years.
