This is a lamp, not a light fitting

Endon's Roves is a decorative light source with an E27 cap — you are buying the bulb alone, with no fitting, flex or ceiling rose. To use it you need an E27 holder: a cable pendant, a plain table base, or a fitting whose shade does not hide the bulb. The whole point of the form is that it should be seen.

Scale matters here: 19 cm across and 24.5 cm tall is larger than many shades. A single Roves on a black flex above a table or console works as a complete light point on its own, and simply will not fit inside a shaded fitting.

Green-to-pink ombre glass

The envelope is tinted glass with a graded transition: the upper part shifts to pink while the lower stays green. The same bulb therefore reads differently from every angle, and differently again in daylight and when lit. Endon offers the shape in other colourways too, so several can be combined in one installation.

Very warm 1800 K, and no glare

Roves runs at 1800 K — well below the 2700 K usual at home and close to candlelight or a carbon-filament lamp. Output is 100 lm from 2.8 W, that is 36 lm/W; a decorative figure rather than a working one. Treat this bulb as a furnishing element that adds a warm glow, and provide a separate source for reading or work.

Inside the envelope sits an etched acrylic diffuser through which the diode's light passes. It is an anti-glare arrangement: instead of a hard point-source filament you see a softly lit column. That matters in practice under a pendant hung low over a table, where the source sits at eye level.

Supply and service

The control gear is integrated in the cap, so the lamp screws straight into a 230 V holder — no driver or transformer needed. It weighs 0.3 kg, which is worth checking against a holder on thin flex at this diameter. The product is made in China and carries a two-year manufacturer's warranty.
