Endon IKAT tapered lampshade, coral pink, 40 cm, E27/B22

IKAT is a tapered lampshade from the British brand Endon, 40 cm across at the bottom and 28 cm at the top, standing 27.5 cm high. The fabric is digitally printed with an ikat pattern in coral pink and gathered into fine pleats, so the surface is not flat — the folds catch the light and give an uneven, lively sheen.

One shade, three ways to use it

The key detail of this model is the reversible white gimbal — the fixing yoke can be turned over. That lets the same shade serve on a table lamp, on a floor lamp, or hang as a pendant on a cable set. You do not have to decide what it is for at the point of purchase; the decision can be changed later by moving the shade to a different base.

Fabric and finish

The material is faux silk with a digital print, which keeps the pattern crisp and stops it blurring across the pleats. The edges are finished with tape and the inside is lined plainly — that lining is what spreads the light evenly and keeps the frame from showing through. The shade is handcrafted.

Choosing a bulb

The shade takes sources of up to 10 W LED, in an E27 or B22 holder — that is both the common Edison screw and the bayonet cap used in British fittings. No bulb is included. With pink fabric it is worth reaching for a warm-toned source: cool light washes the warmer tone out of coral pink.
