V-TAC VT-7779 LED Ceiling Light, 18 W, 4000 K, 1280 lm, Round, Black, Ø35 cm

The VT-7779 is a flat LED ceiling light from V-TAC's Designer series — a round disc 35 cm across and just 6.2 cm deep, finished in black. The build combines aluminium and steel with a PMMA (acrylic) diffuser that spreads the light evenly across the whole face — from below you see a uniformly lit circle rather than individual diodes.

The light

An 18 W LED module delivers 1280 lm at 4000 K — neutral white, which does not yellow a room the way 3000 K does, but is not as cold as daylight either. That is a sensible output for general lighting in a room of roughly 8–12 m², a hallway, a corridor or a bathroom. Efficacy works out at about 71 lm/W, and colour rendering exceeds CRI 80.

What to expect — and what not to

The fitting is not dimmable: it runs at full output and will not work with a dimmer (within the same series V-TAC labels its TRIAC-dimmable models separately). There is no colour switch either — 4000 K is fixed at the factory. The LED module is integrated and not replaceable; once its life is up the whole fitting is replaced. The manufacturer declares 20,000 hours, which at three hours a day is roughly 18 years.

Installation
