ARCS 7813 outdoor wall light, anthracite, LED 8 W, up/down, IP54

ARCS 7813 is an outdoor wall light 22 cm wide, 9 cm tall and 4.8 cm deep. The aluminium housing is curved into an arc — flat against the wall and convex at the front — and finished in a dark grey, RAL 7016. Glass covers along the top and bottom edges are where the light comes out.

Four beams up, four down

Eight 1 W diodes work inside: four aimed upwards, four downwards. Instead of two broad cones there are therefore eight narrow ones, overlapping on the wall to give the fitting's signature pattern of sharply drawn arcs of light and shadow.

That effect exists only on the surface — this is a decorative fitting that draws on the wall, not one that lights the ground in front of it. On smooth render the pattern stays clean; on stone or brick the texture breaks it up.

The light it gives

The eight diodes draw 8 W between them and give 830 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. Colour rendering is Ra 80. The maker states 30,000 operating hours and 30,000 switching cycles — the second figure matters on a fitting run from a motion sensor, which starts many times in a night.

The source is built in permanently and cannot be replaced, and dimming is not provided — the fitting runs at one brightness.

Weather resistance and wiring

An IP54 rating means full protection against dust and resistance to splashing water from any direction: the fitting can sit on an unsheltered facade, on a terrace wall, or on a fence post.

It is protection class I and so needs an earth conductor brought to it — the outdoor circuit must be built with earthing. It runs on 220–240 V, weighs 0.85 kg, and carries a five-year manufacturer's warranty.
