Five marbled globes in a cascade

ARUBA 2182 is a pendant built from a round brushed-brass canopy with five drops of different lengths. Each ends in a glass globe with a distinctive pattern: milky white glass shot through with brown and caramel swirls, like agate or a cut section of stone. Because the globes hang at different heights and are spaced around a circle, the whole reads as a descending spiral rather than a flat row.

Dimensions: narrow but very long

The spread is only 34 cm, while the overall height reaches 139.5 cm. Those are the proportions of a fitting for places where the vertical matters more than the width: over a round table, in a stairwell, above a kitchen island, or in a room with a high ceiling where an ordinary chandelier disappears. Under a standard 250 cm ceiling the lowest globe sits about 110 cm above the floor — right over a dining table, decidedly too low in a walkway.

Five E14 lamps at 7 W

Each globe takes its own E14 lamp of up to 7 W. Bulbs are not included — five are needed. A 7 W ceiling points squarely at LED; with marbled glass that partly absorbs and partly scatters the light, warm lamps at 2700–3000 K suit best and bring out the caramel veining. Diffuse lamps are worth choosing too — inside a semi-translucent globe a sharp point source would show through the glass.

Glass and brushed brass

The pairing of materials is the design here: matt brushed brass on the canopy and drops, and hand-finished glass with a marbled pattern. Unlike polished brass, the brushed finish does not mirror the room and does not show fingerprints — so attention stays on the glass rather than the metal. The fitting weighs 4.1 kg net, which with five points on one canopy calls for a solid anchor in the ceiling.
