ARTUR 673-55 by Paul Neuhaus is a floor lamp with a flat, round uplighter head at the top and a reading light on a movable arm. The finish is a steel-coloured silver, and both parts run on integrated LED modules, so there are no bulbs to buy.
Size and placement
The manufacturer gives a height of 181.5 to 200.3 cm, depending on how the head is set. The head is 44 cm across and made of two sections that tilt independently, and the whole head can also be rotated and angled. With the reading arm, the lamp needs up to 62 cm of depth – a figure to compare with the free space beside your sofa or armchair.
The cable is 2 m long and ends in a Euro plug, so the lamp goes into an ordinary socket with no electrical work. It is protection class II, which means it does not need an earthed socket.
How much light, and how you control it
The two LED modules in the head and the one in the reading light are built in permanently and cannot be replaced. The manufacturer quotes 5770 lm for the modules alone and 4770 lm actually leaving the fitting, at 54 W. That is several times the roughly 800 lm of an old 60 W bulb, so the uplighter aimed at the ceiling can serve as the main light in a living room, while the reading arm gives focused light by an armchair.
There are two buttons on the stem: one for the head, one for the reading light, so each part is switched and adjusted on its own. The buttons dim the light between 10 and 100%, and a double click switches to colour mode, from warm 2700 K, close to a traditional bulb, to cooler daylight-like 5000 K. A memory function keeps the setting even after the lamp is unplugged.
Where it fits
The manufacturer intends ARTUR for the living room: the head spreads light across the ceiling and walls, and the arm light is for reading. The form is modern – a slim straight stem, a flat disc on top and a round base with no decorative detail.
