The Asker Small Down MD1532CS is a box-shaped outdoor wall light in powder-coated cast aluminium, finished in corten steel colour — a rusty brown close to RAL 8011. Light leaves only through the underside, behind a clear structured polycarbonate lens, and a microwave motion sensor with a daylight switch is built into the housing.
How it lights and how much light it gives
The integrated LED module draws 8.4 W and the luminaire as a whole delivers 446 lm at 4000 K — neutral white, under which façade colours and plants look natural, without a yellow cast. The distribution is diffuse, hemispherical and aimed downwards, with ULOR 0% and a BUG rating of B0-U0-G0: nothing goes above the fitting, so it lights the wall and the ground below it rather than the windows upstairs or the night sky.
The light source is included. Only a professional service can replace the LED module — the manufacturer lists service kit ZS1532zx0009 for that.
The motion sensor
A microwave sensor detects movement regardless of the surrounding temperature, and with the daylight switch and motion hold, every new detection extends the time the light stays on. Out of the box it is set to the full detection area, a 5 s hold time and the lux threshold switched off — the manufacturer advises adjusting these after installation to suit the spot where the light hangs.
Mounting and durability
The body is 22.5 cm wide and projects 8.5 cm from the wall. It fixes through two ø4.5 mm holes spaced 180 × 60 mm; the terminals take cable up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and lights can be looped through with 3 × 1.5 mm² cable. It is a protection class I luminaire, so it needs an earth conductor. IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK08 covers impact resistance, which matters on a wall light mounted low by an entrance. The lens is UV-stabilised, and sealing comes from a silicone gasket and an EPDM cable gland.
