Bazar Bizar Oh My Gee Aqua Cushion Cover 35 × 100 cm

Oh My Gee is an elongated cushion cover measuring 100 × 35 cm, sewn from cotton in a deep turquoise the maker calls Aqua. The fabric has a loose, coarsely woven structure with the yarn plainly visible, and both short ends are finished with knotted fringing.

How big it is and where it works

The 100 × 35 cm format is markedly elongated, unlike the square cushions in the same family. A cushion with these proportions is laid along a backrest or across a bed rather than set on its own in the corner of a sofa.

The hundred centimetres of length is the measurement to compare against the width of your own bed and the length of your sofa seat: at the 60 cm usually counted per seated adult, the cushion takes up more than one place. The fringing extends beyond the outline of the cover, so the finished cushion occupies slightly more room than the stated 100 cm.

What you receive

The product is the cover alone. The maker sells the inner cushion separately, so a finished cushion needs one bought in the cover's dimensions. The cover closes with a sewn-in zip, which lets it be taken off without unpicking any seams.

Material, dyeing and washing

The cover is made of hand-dyed cotton. The maker points out that individual pieces therefore differ in shade and in how the dye has settled, so two covers will not come out identical.

The maker specifies hand washing, which rules out a machine. It also states indoor use only, so the cushion is not intended for a terrace or a garden, covered or otherwise. It was sewn in India.
