EGERSUND WOOD 2317 is a bollard 49 cm tall and 12 cm across whose shaft is painted Scandinavian pine, with the head and base in powder-painted cast aluminium in graphite RAL 7016. The lens is clear PMMA.
It lights all round, not downward
The manufacturer describes the distribution as rotationally symmetrical — the fitting lights its whole circumference evenly rather than a narrow patch beneath it. So it goes alongside the path it is meant to guide, or in the middle of a bed, with spacings chosen so the pools overlap. Worth knowing: the ULOR is 10% and the rating is BUG B1-U3-G1 — some light does go upward. This is a glowing post, not a fully shielded fitting, unlike models that let not a single lumen above the horizontal.
How much light, and of what quality
The LED module produces 1462 lumens and 873 lm leaves the luminaire at 9.1 W — a luminaire efficiency of 95.9 lm/W, which is very high for a decorative bollard. The colour is 4000 K, rendering CRI 80, and colour consistency SDCM3 — in a run of several posts along a driveway the tint differences between units stay below the threshold of visibility. Flicker is within spec (Pst LM ≤ 1, SVM ≤ 0.4).
Dimming from an ordinary dimmer
The fitting is phase-dimmable (TRIAC) and — unusually — handles both trailing edge (TE) and leading edge (LE). In practice it will work with most ordinary household wall dimmers, with no dedicated controller and no bus. A DALI version is available from the factory to order.
Designed to be repaired, not replaced
A rarity in this category: the manufacturer states that both the LED module and the driver are replaceable by a professional, and lists the electric set ZS2317zx0009 as a spare part. Add the declared life: L70 above 171,460 hours, L80 above 107,920 h and L90 above 52,330 h. At those numbers the paint will wear out before the diode does — which is why the manufacturer backs the coating with a 25-year anti-corrosion warranty alongside 5 years on the fitting.
Durability and electrics
IP65 protection (dust-tight, resistant to water jets), operating range −20…+45 °C. The fitting is protection class II, i.e. double insulated — it needs no earth conductor, which simplifies a garden installation (a class I version is a factory option). The terminals take up to 2 × 4 mm² and allow looping, so several posts can run as one circuit; round-jacket cable ø8–12.5 mm. Power factor PF 0.90, THD 10%, inrush current 2 A / 50 µs.
Installation needs a separate anchor
The base has three ø9 mm holes spaced 120° apart on a ø65 mm circle. The bollard has no spike of its own — the anchor is bought separately, and Norlys offers several: 205ZX0010 (concreting anchor), 206GA0010 (ground anchor), 206GA0S10 (adapter for a concrete foundation) and 3086GA0009 (mounting adapter). Without one of them the fitting cannot be set.
Variants and factory options
EGERSUND WOOD 2317 comes in two standard colours: 2317GR graphite RAL 7016 (this model) and 2317AL aluminium RAL 9006. To order, the manufacturer also builds a DALI version, a class I version, 2700 K, a different luminous flux, a version with surge protection (SPD), any RAL colour, and a different height. Net weight 3.34 kg, gross 3.93 kg; packaging 57 × 16 × 16 cm.
