The Stockholm 287BL is a low garden bollard: a flat circular hood 35 cm across shelters a clear cylindrical lens, and horizontal rings around the lens break up the direct view of the bulb. The body is hot-dip galvanised steel painted black RAL 9005, the lens is clear PMMA.

How tall it is and how it fixes down

The luminaire stands 47.5 cm high and its hood takes up 35 cm of diameter — a height for lighting a path, a driveway or a bed, not for lighting a whole garden from one point. It weighs 4.4 kg net.

A mounting anchor is included: it bolts through three ø7 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø120 mm circle. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the gland passes a round-sheathed cable of up to ø12 mm — an ordinary buried garden cable brought up to the base.

Which bulb to buy

The socket is E27 and takes a lamp in an A55–A60 envelope. The manufacturer caps the source at an LED of no more than 9 W and states it is replaced by the end user — no bulb is supplied, so you choose the colour and the brightness yourself. On a path a warm source of around 2700 K is usually enough.

Weathering and upkeep

Hot-dip galvanising puts the zinc on in a bath rather than leaving paint to do the work — that layer, not the colour, is what carries a fitting that stands out in the rain for years. A PMMA lens will not shatter from a stone thrown up by a mower the way glass would.

The fitting is rated IP54, so it is protected against dust and against splashing water from any direction, and it works from −20 to +45 °C. Protection class II means double insulation: no earth conductor is required, which simplifies wiring into an older garden circuit.

The manufacturer lists spare parts for this model — a lampshade service kit and a gasket — so a cracked lens does not decide the fate of the whole fitting.
