The Bot 4 is a pendant light built around a straight black rod 121 cm long carrying four cylindrical spot heads 11.5 cm across and 9 cm deep. Each head sits in a gimbal joint, and the whole fitting hangs on two cables spaced 50 cm apart that come out of a round ceiling rose 10 cm across.
How much room it takes and how low it hangs
The rod measures 121 cm, and the swung-out heads widen the outline to 34 cm of depth — that is the clear space needed under the ceiling. Over a table the 121 cm lie along the top, so the fitting suits a long table rather than a round one.
Maximum drop is 100 cm and can be shortened, because the suspension height is adjustable. Over a worktop the bottom edge of the heads is usually set 70–80 cm above the surface, so the light covers the table without falling into seated eyes. The fitting weighs 2.8 kg and hangs from two points, both of which belong in the load-bearing part of the ceiling.
Four spot heads, each aimed separately
The heads turn in their joints independently of one another, so one fitting can light several places at once — part of the output onto the table, part onto a wall or into the ceiling. That is what separates the Bot from a lamp with a fixed shade: the distribution of light is set after installation rather than chosen at purchase.
Which lamps it takes
The fitting accepts four lamps with a GU10 base, but in the ES111 reflector form (also called AR111) — a 111 mm reflector, not the ordinary 50 mm GU10 capsule. The smaller lamp will screw into the base but will not fill an 11.5 cm shade. The manufacturer states a maximum of 10 W LED per point.
Lamps are not included, so colour temperature and brightness are your choice; Aldex names the silver AR111 or the black ES111. Four points at 10 W each means buying four reflector lamps, not one.
Build and where the manufacturer places it
The structure is metal in a matt, gloss-free black. Aldex intends the Bot 4 for a teenager's room, an office and a dining room; the BOT series also holds ceiling lights, wall lights and a table and floor lamp in the same finish, in black and in white.
