Argon Darling 1458 is a round ceiling light 450 mm in diameter and 80 mm high. The rim is lacquered steel in a structured gold finish; a milky glass panel closes the underside. Three E27 lampholders sit behind that glass, so from the room you see a gold drum and an even disc of light rather than the lamps. Light sources are not in the box — you choose them separately within the maker’s limit.

How it sits on the ceiling

At 80 mm high the fitting barely drops below the ceiling. The 45 cm diameter occupies a clear patch of living-room, bedroom or dining-room ceiling without needing a tall room. It is surface-mounted: Argon’s sheet shows three fixing points and a 230 V connection with a protective earth, protection class I. Which lamps and what they decide

Each of the three E27 holders takes an LED lamp of at most 15 W. The maker also states the lamp envelope: diameter up to 50 mm and height up to 105 mm — a longer or wider lamp will not close under the glass. Colour temperature and lumen output are not set by the fitting; they come from the lamps you fit. The sheet marks dimmer compatibility; that only holds if all three lamps are dimmable and matched to the same dimmer. An energy class for the luminaire itself does not apply, because the source is replaceable.

Where the light disc belongs

The glass spreads light downward and toward the rim, without a hard hotspot. With three independent E27 sockets you can build a brighter set over a table or a weaker, warmer set in a bedroom without changing the body. IP20 keeps use to dry interiors: living room, bedroom, dining room, hallway, and representative routes in a hotel or restaurant. It is not a bathroom or outdoor luminaire.
