Dallas MOD545PL-06G is a pendant lamp built from six blown glass spheres in an amber tint, set on a vertical polished metal rod in gold. The spheres alternate at different heights, which gives the body a 29 cm spread even though it hangs from a single point.
How big the lamp is and how high it will hang
The manufacturer states an overall height of 62.5 cm to 170 cm - the range is set by the length of the suspension cable, so the same piece can hang low over a counter or high in a room with a raised ceiling. At 29 cm across it takes up less plan area than a typical shade over a table and reads as a vertical accent rather than a shade covering the table's full width.
The canopy is round, 10 cm across and 2.5 cm high, so it covers a standard installation box. The whole fitting weighs 1.2 kg.
How many light sources and what kind of light
The fitting has six light points with G9 sockets, each rated up to 28 W, on a 220-240 V / 50 Hz supply. Colour and brightness therefore follow from the lamps you fit. The glass is coloured amber through its body and passes light in a warmer, golden tone, while the spheres scatter it in every direction - this is a fitting for ambient light around itself, not a focused pool beneath it.
It is not built for dimming, so do not plan it onto a circuit with a dimmer. The manufacturer rates it protection class I, which means the installation needs an earth conductor for the connection.
Build and series
Body and arms are polished metal, and each arm ends in a knurled lampholder that sits inside the sphere. Dallas also covers ceiling fittings, wall lamps and a floor lamp, and the pendants come with eleven and twenty-five spheres as well, so several rooms can be furnished from one series. Besides gold the manufacturer offers chrome and brass. The warranty runs 5 years.
