ELALTO is a garden bollard 120 cm tall and 13 cm across, in matt black. A metre twenty is taller than the typical path bollard — at that height the fitting lights a wider band of surface and starts to work as a small lamp post at an entrance or driveway.

1560 lumens: a lot for a bollard

The integrated 27 W LED module gives 1560 lumens in a warm 3000 K. For comparison most garden bollards manage 400–800 lm. That output lights not only the path itself but its surroundings — the lawn, the edge of a bed, a section of wall behind it. At a front door one bollard covers what would take two or three lower-output ones.

Weather resistance and installation

IP54 means protection against settling dust and splashing water from any direction — rain, snow and garden watering are no problem, but the bollard is not made for standing water or a pressure hose. The construction combines aluminium with plastic, and the matt black neither throws specular highlights nor draws the eye by day. The LED module is permanently integrated — when the diodes reach end of life the whole fitting is replaced; the fitting is not dimmable. The garden circuit must use buried cable and be protected by an RCD.
