KELDA OVAL is a 57.8 cm table lamp whose body is an oval bubble of clear glass threaded onto a satin brass stem. The stem ends in a round brass base and carries a cylindrical fabric shade in vintage white at the top.
How big it is and where to put it
The shade is 35 cm across, so the lamp needs a surface deep enough that it does not overhang the edge — a bedroom chest of drawers, a wide console, or a side table beside an armchair. At 57.8 cm tall the lower rim of the shade sits above the eye level of a seated person, which keeps the bulb out of sight.
The lamp weighs 1.8 kg, and that weight sits low, in the glass bubble and the brass foot. The fabric-braided cable in vintage white is 1.5 m long, which sets the furthest it can stand from a socket.
The touch dimmer and which bulb to buy
It is switched by touching the metal parts of the lamp, and the dimmer works in three stages, so the brightness changes without a wall dimmer and without an inline cord switch. This needs a dimmable lamp: the maker specifically calls for an E27 LED marked as dimmable.
The holder takes one E27 lamp of up to 10 W in LED, and no bulb is supplied. Endon recommends E27 LED filament lamps in the GLS shape — with a clear glass base and a pale shade the filament pattern is visible, so the choice of bulb shows. The lamp is protection class II, double insulated, and does not need an earthed socket.
Build
The glass bubble is colourless and hollow — it is a decorative element, with the light source higher up, under the shade. The metal parts carry a satin brass plating, and the shade is sewn from vintage white fabric, which diffuses the light and warms it slightly. The maker gives a two-year warranty. The same line includes a KELDA OVAL pendant, so the table lamp can be paired with a fitting over the table.
