Obi 70334 is a wall light with a semi-circular shade in vintage white linen on a steel body. The shade is open at the top and the bottom, so the light leaves in two bands along the wall and passes through the fabric itself softened.
Which lamp has to be bought with it
The fitting has one E27 socket and ships without a lamp, so one has to be bought separately. The manufacturer rates it at a maximum of 10 W in LED form and that figure must not be exceeded: the shade is fabric, and more power means a temperature it was not built for.
The fitting is dimmable. For the dimming to work two things are needed: a dimmer in the circuit and a lamp its own maker describes as dimmable. An ordinary LED lamp without that marking flickers on a dimmer or fails to go fully out. Endon lists E27 LED filament GLS lamps alongside this fitting.
How much wall it takes
The shade is 31.5 cm wide and 18 cm high, and it stands 14 cm off the wall. That projection is the figure to compare with the passage left in the room: against the 80 cm of clear passage normally kept beside a piece of furniture 14 cm is no obstacle, but over a narrow desk or beside a door edge it is worth measuring before drilling.
The whole fitting weighs 0.5 kg, so fixing it needs no heavy-duty anchors.
Power and installation
The fitting runs on 230 V and is class II equipment, meaning double insulation and no requirement for a protective earth conductor at the outlet. That simplifies installation in an older two-core circuit, where the green and yellow conductor is often simply absent.
The IP20 rating restricts it to dry interiors, so the zone around a bath or shower is out. The manufacturer gives a two-year warranty.
