Famlight Muna pendant lamp set of 3, brass / copper / patina

Muna set of 3 is three hand-blown glass globes hung on separate cords from a single round canopy. The globes come in different diameters — 20, 25 and 30 cm — and the set mixes clear glass with amber. The metal parts, meaning the canopy, the lampholders and the fittings, are supplied in a brass, copper or patina finish.

How much room it needs below the ceiling

The canopy is 35 cm across and is the single fixing point for all three globes — three separate ceiling outlets are not needed. Below it the globes spread across 48 cm, so that much clear space has to be allowed on every side of the suspension point.

The total drop is 130 cm, measured from the ceiling to the bottom edge of the lowest globe. Put that figure next to your ceiling height and to whatever will stand under the lamp: over a 75 cm dining table the drop decides whether people can see each other over the glass.

The glass and the metal finish

Every globe is blown and painted by hand, so wall thickness, shade of colour and fine air bubbles vary between pieces and against the photograph. That belongs to the technique and is not a departure from the pattern.

The lamp is made entirely in Poland and the manufacturer covers it with a two-year warranty. The glass is cleaned dry or with a slightly damp cloth; the painted surface does not take abrasives.

Bulbs and wiring

Each of the three globes has its own E27 lampholder, and the manufacturer states a maximum bulb rating of 40 W per holder. Bulbs are not included, so three have to be bought separately. The supply is the usual 230 V.

With clear glass the bulb is visible through the globe, so its shape and colour become part of how the lamp looks. The choice between an ordinary bulb and a decorative filament one has a real visual effect here.
