NYC/RON 40/25 is a floor lamp 147 cm tall: a chrome tube on a round, flat base, topped by a cylindrical fabric shade 40 cm across. The shade is made of chintz in an apricot tone.
How large it is and where it stands
At 147 cm the lower edge of the shade sits above the eye level of a seated person, so the lamp lights the place beside it without shining into anyone's face. The 40 cm shade is the widest part — that is how much room has to stay free between the back of an armchair and the wall.
The whole fitting weighs 2.86 kg, with the weight in the base. The supply cable is 180 cm long and it sets the greatest distance from the socket.
Which lamp and how it switches
There is one E27 lampholder and the manufacturer supplies no light source with it — colour and brightness are yours to choose. The maximum lamp power is 15 W, which in LED terms is the brightness of a former 100 W incandescent bulb; an incandescent or halogen lamp of the same power gives several times less light.
The switch sits on the cable near the floor, not on the body of the lamp. It runs on ordinary 230 V — the lamp plugs into a socket and needs no further hardware.
Shade and build
Stem and base are metal with a chrome finish; the shade is fabric. Chintz is smooth-finished cotton, so the surface of the shade is even and slightly glossy, with no visible weave texture — unlike linen or coarse cotton.
The manufacturer intends this lamp for a living room, a bedroom and a child's room. The apricot tone is warm and distinct, so the shade stays a colour accent even when the lamp is off.
