The Lucide Philon is a reading lamp rather than room lighting, and the proportions say so. On a black tube 140 cm tall, standing on a flat disc 23 cm across, sit two tiny heads measuring 3 × 3 × 6 cm. The whole structure is aluminium, matt and spray-painted, and at 2.6 kg it stays easy to move.

Two heads, two chairs

Both heads rotate independently in the horizontal plane, so one lamp serves two seats — a sofa and the armchair beside it, or two sides of a corner unit. The beam is 60°: tight enough to light a book without flooding the room, but not as narrow as a spotlight. The light points downward.

A touch dimmer instead of a switch

There is no conventional inline switch. The lamp is turned on and adjusted with the touch dimmer built into the top of the fitting — your hand lands on it naturally as you reach for the lamp. The control covers the full brightness range, so at 3000 K the light can be taken down in the evening to a level that will not keep you awake. The LED sources are permanently built in, rated for 30,000 hours, and cannot be replaced.

Power and placement

The lamp runs on 230 V in protection class II, so no earth connection is needed. The cable is 173 cm and ends in a type C plug — worth checking the distance to the socket when choosing a spot, because at 140 cm of lamp height there is not much cable to spare. IP20 places it in dry interiors. The manufacturer gives a three-year warranty.
