The Happy Moses Moses basket is crocheted entirely by hand from 9 mm cotton cord, in light grey. Its base is a 6 mm board of first-grade pine. The basket has two firm braided carrying handles and two decorative tassels, and is made in Poland.

How big it is and which child it fits

The basket measures 75 cm long, 37 cm wide and 25 cm high — figures to compare with the place you mean to put it: a chest of drawers, the floor beside the bed, or the width of a stand if you add one. The basket alone weighs 6 kg, so even empty it is carried with both hands rather than one.

The manufacturer gives a maximum child weight of 9 kg and states that the basket is for a child who cannot yet sit up unaided, roll over, or push up on hands and knees. That limit, rather than the length of the basket, is usually what ends its useful life.

What is included and what you buy separately

The basket arrives in one piece and needs no assembly. Two decorative tassels are included. A mattress is not included — the manufacturer sells it separately, so it has to be budgeted for.

The stand is a separate product too. The basket does not require one and can stand directly on a stable surface; a rocking stand or a wooden stand raises it to a height at which you do not have to bend down.

Materials and everyday use

The raw materials are certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which attests to the absence of harmful substances in the cotton and in its dyeing. The 9 mm cord produces a dense, springy wall, and the pine base stiffens the bottom across its whole area.

The manufacturer requires the basket to be used only on a firm, level and dry surface, states that it is not a toy, and that a child must not be left in it unattended. Handles and base should be inspected regularly for signs of damage.
