Hinkley Arco Linear LED Pendant 117 cm Heritage Brass - Elstead

Arco is a linear pendant 116.8 cm long: folded sheet steel in a Heritage Brass finish wraps over a thick, ribbed glass shade. A decorative brass knob sits at each end of the profile. The light comes from an integrated LED module at 3000 K.

How big it is and how high to hang it

The profile itself is 116.8 cm long, 11.7 cm high and 11.2 cm deep. Compare that length with your own table or kitchen island: the fitting lights the strip beneath it, so it wants to be clearly shorter than the surface it hangs over. It weighs 8.35 kg, and that load calls for a fixing into the ceiling slab or a structural member rather than into plasterboard alone.

It hangs on two steel cables of 180 cm each, with the drop adjustable between 44.2 and 204.2 cm. Over a table with a 75 cm top, the bottom edge of a pendant usually ends up 70-80 cm above the surface — that whole range falls inside the adjustment, as does a higher hang over an island.

How much light it gives and of what kind

The LED module delivers 2150 lm and draws up to 43 W. An old 60 W incandescent bulb gave around 800 lm, so Arco puts out close to three of them at once — enough to be the main light over a table rather than an addition to one. 3000 K is warm white, close to a traditional bulb.

The light leaves through thick ribbed glass with an etched interior, which diffuses it instead of showing the individual diodes. The fitting is fully dimmable, which needs a dimmer in the circuit. The module is not swapped like a bulb — it is built in permanently, and the light source comes with the fitting.

Build

The shade is steel and the glass is thick and ribbed. The fitting belongs to the Arco family from Hinkley, brought to Europe by Elstead Lighting. It is protection class I, so the connection needs a PE earth conductor; the manufacturer intends it for interiors only and covers it with a two-year guarantee.
