Strela is a pendant light with a single spherical glass shade 25 cm across. The glass is graduated — almost clear at the top edge, shading into amber towards the bottom. The canopy, the sleeve and the body of the fitting are finished in polished gold, and the shade hangs on a thin cable.
How big it is and how to hang it
The globe itself is 25 cm in diameter and the fitting with its sleeve stands 36 cm tall. The total suspension reaches 120 cm and is shortened at installation, so over a worktop or kitchen island the bottom of the globe is usually set 70–80 cm above the surface.
A single 25 cm globe is small against an ordinary table, so over a longer top people usually hang several side by side. The manufacturer also makes three- and five-light versions on a shared canopy within the same family, along with the smaller S and M sizes.
How much light it gives
The LED is built in and delivers 456 lm — roughly what an old 40 W bulb gave. That is an amount of light for atmosphere and for picking out one particular spot, not for lighting a whole room; as the only source in a room this fitting will not be enough.
3000 K is warm white and sits well with the amber tone of the glass. The fitting cannot be dimmed, and the source cannot be replaced because the LED is integrated into the body — when it reaches its end the whole fitting is changed. The manufacturer gives a 5-year warranty.
Build and where it fits
The structure is steel and aluminium, the shade glass. The form is modern and spare: a smooth globe, a narrow sleeve and nothing else visible but the thin supporting cable, with no ornament at all.
The lamp suits a kitchen island, a living room, a bedroom and a hallway, as well as hotel interiors — anywhere it hangs over a particular spot and works alongside other lighting. The same shape is also made in a black finish within the Strela family.
