The LangeLight LT032708 is a round downlight built into the ceiling. The white flange is 27.5 cm across and covers the cut-out, with a finned aluminium heat sink carrying the LED module behind it. The light-emitting face is a milky diffuser, so the fitting gives diffused rather than directional light.

Power and colour temperature are set with a switch

Two DIP switches sit on the back of the housing. The first selects the power — 28 W or 38 W — the second the colour temperature: 3000 K, 3400 K or 4000 K, from warm white through to neutral. Once the fitting is recessed the housing is out of reach, so both are set before it goes into the ceiling.

At the 38 W setting the manufacturer states 4959 lm — roughly six times what an old 60 W bulb gave, which puts it in the range of general room lighting rather than accent lighting. The fitting is not dimmable: brightness changes with the power switch, not with a dimmer.

Size and how it mounts

The flange measures 27.5 cm across and the whole fitting is 7 cm deep — that second figure is the one that has to fit in the void above a suspended ceiling, together with the driver. Spring clips hold the fitting, bracing against the ceiling once it is pushed into the opening.

The product is class II, so it needs no protective earth conductor. The IP44 rating covers splashing water, which is why the manufacturer lists the bathroom alongside the office and the kitchen. Weight including packaging is 1.54 kg.

Light source, lifetime and accessories

The source is a permanently built-in LED module. It is included, so no bulb is bought separately, but it also cannot be replaced — when the diodes are spent the whole fitting is replaced. The manufacturer states 50,000 hours of diode life and energy class E.

The operating range is −20 to 40 °C and the fitting is intended for indoor use only. Where the ceiling does not allow recessing, the same downlight mounts on the surface using a separate LangeLight LT032715 adapter, which is not included. The warranty is five years.
