BAJIO is a pendant lamp from the Spanish brand Luces Exclusivas – a gold lampholder on a black cable, ringed by a flat 20 cm disc. The bulb is left exposed below it.
A disc instead of a shade
In place of a closed shade there is a horizontal plate. It hides the holder and the light point seen from above, bounces part of the light onto the ceiling and lets the rest through downwards – a lighter effect than a full shade, and the lamp does not block the room visually. At twenty centimetres across it is a point fitting: it looks right on its own over a bedside table, or in a row of two or three over a worktop or kitchen island.
The bulb shows – choose it deliberately
The light source sits exposed below the disc, so the bulb itself is on view. A decorative LED filament lamp in clear or smoked glass and a warm colour suits it best. The light source is not included – you match it to the interior and to the mounting height.
12 W maximum – and that is not a typo
The socket is a standard E27, but the manufacturer gives a maximum lamp power of 12 W. Meaning: LED only. Do not fit a classic 60 W incandescent or a halogen – the issue is not brightness but heat, which the gold-finished metal holder cannot shed. 12 W of LED is around a thousand lumens, ample for this lamp.
Height and mounting
The total suspension height is 180 cm – the cable is shortened at the ceiling to whatever length you need, so the lamp hangs equally well low over a counter or high in a room with a raised ceiling. The ceiling rose is round and also gold. The fitting is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry interiors.
