CONIL is a pendant lamp from the Spanish brand Luces Exclusivas – an upright fluted tube of clear acrylic, capped top and bottom in gold, hung on a thin cable.
Fluted acrylic instead of a shade
The shade is a cylinder of ribbed acrylic only 6.4 cm across. The lengthwise flutes split the diode's light into vertical bands, so the lit tube reads as a glowing column rather than a single flat patch. The material is transparent – switched off, the lamp all but disappears and only the gold line of its fittings remains.
Six watts – this is a decorative fitting
The built-in LED module gives 398 lm from 6 W at 2700 K (very warm white, like a traditional bulb). That is accent brightness, not general lighting: one unit will pick out a bedside table or a corner, but it will not light a room. CONIL looks best in groups – three or five hung at staggered heights over a kitchen island, a table or in a stairwell give the effect of falling light and, together, a sensible amount of it.
Phase dimming
The manufacturer confirms dimming with a TRIAC dimmer – an ordinary wall dimmer, no bus and no remote. With a group of these it is worth checking the dimmer's minimum load: a single 6 W can fall below the threshold of cheaper models, but three or five fittings on one circuit will clear it.
Height and mounting
The total suspension height is 200 cm – the cable is shortened at the ceiling to the length you need, so the lamp suits both a worktop and a room with a high ceiling. The ceiling rose is cylindrical and also gold. The light source is permanently built in (there is no bulb to change). The IP20 rating places it in dry interiors.
