Lucide JOANET Brass Smoked Glass 9-Light Pendant Lamp 45494/19/96

Lucide JOANET is a pendant with nine light points hanging from one oval ceiling plate. Six of them carry smoke-glass shades in three sizes, the other three are slim brass tubes. The plate, the lampholders and the cables are black, and brass returns only in the tubes.

How much room it takes and how high it hangs

The whole arrangement stays within a 130 × 35 cm outline, and the ceiling plate itself measures 115 × 35 cm at 3 cm thick — a figure to hold against the length of the table it is meant to hang over. The height is set before installation by shortening the cables; the manufacturer gives a range of 90 to 150 cm.

The fitting weighs 12 kg and hangs entirely from that single plate, so the fixing has to reach the structural ceiling. The manufacturer advises starting from the largest shade: set it at the intended height above the table top, then measure the remaining cables from it.

Nine points, and the lamps you buy separately

Six lampholders take an E27 thread and carry glass shades measuring Ø21 × 22 cm, Ø18 × 18 cm and Ø22 × 32.5 cm. The other three are GU10 sockets inside brass tubes of Ø5.5 × 45 cm. No lamps are supplied, so lighting the fitting means buying nine of them — six E27 and three GU10 — rated up to 40 W per socket.

The glass is smoked and see-through, so the lamp stays visible inside the shade. The manufacturer recommends its own T32 source, article 49035/25/62: an E27 LED filament lamp of 4.9 W at 2200 K, an amber tone — that is the look these shades were drawn for.

Dimming and supply

The fitting is operated from an ordinary wall switch. Dimming is possible but calls for two separately bought items: a dimmer in the back box and lamps marked as dimmable — the luminaire carries no electronics of its own. Supply is 230 V and it is protection class I, so the circuit needs an earth conductor.

IP20 confines this pendant to dry interiors. The light goes all around, undirected — the shades throw sideways and downwards.
