The Lucide Taylor 09832/01/31 is a garden spotlight on a ground spike: a cylindrical aluminium head held in a yoke, with a spike pushed into the soil beneath it. Every surface is finished in matt white powder coating. The fitting itself stands 26 cm tall and 10 cm at its widest; with the spike it measures about 31 cm.
Where it goes in the garden
The spike is 16 cm long with a 1.5 × 1.5 cm cross-section, so it is pressed into the soil by hand — no footing and no drilling. That means the spotlight can be moved along with the plant it lights. Fixing materials are supplied.
The head rotates and tilts through a full 360°, so the beam can be aimed up a tree trunk, at a facade or along a driveway. The shade tube is 5.5 cm across and around 10 cm long, and that proportion keeps the light travelling in one direction instead of spilling sideways. The manufacturer states a weight of 0.3 kg.
Which lamp to buy for it
The fitting takes one GU10 (MR16) lamp of up to 50 W on a 230 V supply. No lamp is included, so the colour and brightness are yours to choose — the manufacturer recommends its own 49006/05/30 LED at 5 W and 3000 K, which is warm white light.
Lucide lists the spotlight as non-dimmable and intends it to be switched from an ordinary wall switch, bought separately. There is no motion or dusk sensor built in.
What it survives outdoors
IP65 means complete protection against dust and resistance to water jets, so the spotlight can stand in the grass in the open all year round and needs no shelter. The body is aluminium with a matt powder-coated finish.
It is a class II fitting, so no earth conductor is needed. The manufacturer's warranty on the fitting is 2 years.
