Nora 2472CS outdoor wall light LED 15.3W 4000K IP65 corten steel Norlys

Nora 2472CS is a square Norlys outdoor wall light, 13 cm to a side and projecting just 5 cm from the wall. The aluminium casting is painted in a corten-steel finish — a rust tone that on brick, timber or warm-toned render reads as material rather than paint. Light leaves downwards and upwards through clear glass.

Up and down light, and what that means for the wall

The fitting has two light points and Norlys quotes an ULOR of 50% — exactly half the flux goes up, half goes down. Instead of a single pool below the fitting you get two symmetrical cones washing the facade. This is a solution for bringing out the texture of a wall and marking an entrance or driveway in rhythm; it is not a floodlight for the ground in front of the house. Worth remembering that half the light aimed upward is also light escaping to the sky — under a soffit it lands on the overhang, on an open wall it goes straight up.

1170 lumens at 4000 K

The built-in LED module draws 15.3 W and delivers 1170 lm, which works out at 76.5 lm/W. 4000 K is neutral white — cooler than the usual 3000 K on a facade, but better at rendering the greys of concrete and graphite ironmongery. Colour rendering is 80 and unit-to-unit spread is SDCM 3, so a row along a wall will not vary in tone. The source is permanently integrated and not replaceable.

DALI2 control

Nora supports the DALI2 protocol — digital control with individual addressing, so in a larger installation each fitting can be dimmed separately or folded into a centrally driven scene. That is specification-grade equipment, uncommon in facade wall lights of this size.

Mounting and durability

The fitting is fixed through two ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm. Terminals accept up to 5 × 2.5 mm², and fittings can be looped with up to 5 × 1.5 mm²; the gland takes round insulated cable of ø7–10.5 mm. Inrush current is 6.7 A over 2.4 µs. IP65 and IK09 mean full protection against water jets and resistance to a roughly 10-joule impact — a level that makes sense at a door, in a gateway and anywhere the fitting is within reach. The operating range runs from −20 °C to +45 °C.
