Nora 2498CB Copper LED Outdoor Wall Lamp NORLYS

The Nora 2498CB is an outdoor wall lamp built as a flat square body of cast aluminium, powder-coated in copper brown RAL 8004. A satin glass diffuser runs along the lower edge of the housing — all the light leaves there, aimed straight down.

Size and how it is fixed

The housing is 13 × 13 cm and stands 5 cm off the wall, so it is not in the way when you pass a doorway and casts no deep shadow across the facade. It weighs 0,85 kg and the carton measures 16 × 14 × 5,5 cm.

It fixes with two screws through ø5 mm holes at 63 × 112 mm centres. The terminals take conductors up to 5×2,5 mm², or 5×1,5 mm² when looping through, and are sized for round cable of 7 to 10,5 mm diameter — several fittings can therefore be joined on one supply run without an intermediate box.

The maker also states how many of these may hang on one breaker: 46 on a B 10 A and 119 on a C 16 A. Those are the numbers a longer facade run starts from.

The light it gives

The 8 W LED module gives 296 lumens at 2700 K, warm light with a slightly yellow cast, close to a traditional bulb. This is accent brightness, not working light: the old 60 W incandescent gave around 800 lm, so the Nora draws a band of light on the wall rather than lighting the approach to the house.

The light is single-sided and directed downwards, and the share of flux sent upwards is 0% — nothing reaches above the fitting, which counts where the facade sits beside a bedroom window or under a dark sky. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough for render, stone and timber.

Control and servicing

The fitting dims within a DALI2/TD system. An ordinary wall dimmer will do nothing here — a DALI control installation with its own bus is what it needs.

The LED module and the control gear are both replaceable, but the change is done by a service technician rather than the owner; the maker provides the service set ZN2498XX0009 for it. The housing is rated IP65 for ingress and IK09 for impact, and the fitting is protection class I, so the installation has to provide an earth conductor.
