Norlys BASEL 668GA outdoor LED wall light 5.2 W 3000 K, hot-dip galvanised

Norlys BASEL 668GA is an outdoor wall light with a rectangular hot-dip galvanised steel front and satin-finished safety glass. Two horizontal metal bands divide the curved glass cover. The GA designation identifies the galvanised finish, rather than the black or stainless-steel version.

Allowing space beside doors and windows

The fitting measures 31 cm high, 21 cm wide and 13 cm deep. Compare these dimensions with the available wall area, nearby window frames and the position of the electrical supply before choosing its location. The 13 cm projection is particularly relevant beside a narrow passage or a door that opens towards the light.

A simple frame, paired crossbars and pale glass give this design a restrained appearance suited to contemporary, minimalist and Scandinavian architecture. Its wall-mounted construction supports use on façades, at entrances and alongside terraces or balconies. The same outdoor lighting roles can also apply to hotel and restaurant exteriors.

Warm white output and compatible control

The integrated LED module produces warm white light at 3000 K. The complete fitting consumes 5.2 W and delivers 483 lm, while the light source itself is rated at 667 lm. Use the luminaire output of 483 lm when comparing delivered light, since this figure accounts for the fitting's optical construction. Satin-finished glass and the specified distribution provide diffuse illumination rather than a narrow spotlight beam.

Dimming uses trailing-edge phase control. Check that the chosen controller supports this method rather than assuming any LED dimmer will be suitable. Both the LED module and control gear are replaceable by a professional service. This is not the version intended for routine replacement of an E27 screw-in bulb.

Construction and installation requirements

The base is powder-coated cast aluminium, with a silicone gasket. IP54 and IK07 are the declared ingress-protection and impact-resistance ratings. The 220–240 V supply and Class I construction require a correctly connected protective-earth conductor.

The mounting instructions specify two 4.5 mm fixing holes with a 138 × 50 mm spacing and a round cable measuring 7–10.5 mm in diameter. Installation and connection should be carried out by a qualified installer, including the manufacturer's prescribed treatment of the cable entry.
