Norlys BODEN 5109GA outdoor LED wall light 8 W 4000 K – hot-dip galvanized

Norlys BODEN 5109GA is an outdoor wall light with an opal diffuser crossed by three horizontal bars. A rectangular hot-dip galvanized steel front surrounds the diffuser, while the body is made from powder-coated cast aluminium. This version has an integrated 8 W LED module producing 4000 K light, rather than an E27 lamp holder.

Allowing space on the wall

The fitting measures 31 cm high, 16 cm wide and 10.5 cm deep. Compare these dimensions with the available wall area and the swing of any nearby door before choosing a mounting position. Its upright outline and evenly spaced bars create a restrained Scandinavian detail suited to modern and minimalist façades.

Wall mounting and diffuse light distribution make it suitable beside an entrance or on a terrace or balcony wall. The same function can serve the exterior of a hotel or restaurant. This is not a spotlight designed to draw a narrow beam across the façade, a distinction worth considering when planning the lighting layout.

Neutral white light and dimming

The UV-stabilized opal polycarbonate diffuser covers the LED module. Norlys specifies 772 lm for the light source; this is not a whole-luminaire output figure measured after the diffuser. The 4000 K colour temperature gives neutral white light, so check how that will sit alongside any existing exterior lighting.

The fitting supports trailing-edge and leading-edge phase dimming, TE and LE. Check compatibility with the installed LED module when selecting an external dimmer. The light source can be replaced by a professional service, rather than by the user as an ordinary screw-in bulb.

Electrical installation

BODEN operates on 220–240 V and is a Class I fitting requiring a protective earth conductor. Its protection rating is IP54. A qualified installer should carry out the work according to the Norlys instructions. The two mounting holes have a specified spacing of 90 × 160 mm; compare this with the fixing points if replacing an existing wall light.
