Hitra 5115AL is an outdoor wall light with a flat, rectangular, unornamented body of cast aluminium, powder-coated in aluminium colour RAL 9006. Light leaves only downwards, through a round window of clear safety glass in the underside, so it lights the wall and the ground below while the facade above stays dark. The manufacturer intends it for private grounds and facades: entrances, terraces, balconies or fences.
Dimensions and mounting
The body is 6 cm high and 15 cm wide and projects 20 cm from the wall. The low profile fits above a door, under the eaves or on a narrow pillar — compare the 20 cm projection with the space left beside a door frame or downpipe. The light weighs 1.41 kg.
It fixes to the wall through two ø4 mm holes set 104 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the light can be looped through with up to 3 × 1.5 mm² — several lights along one facade then run from a single supply line instead of a separate cable to each. The cable gland takes round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. For mounting on a building corner, the manufacturer offers corner bracket 151, sold separately.
How much light, and what kind
The source is a built-in Philips Fortimo LED module rated at 17.5 W. It is included, so there is no bulb to buy. The light delivers 1717 lm (the module alone is rated at 2050 lm), more than twice an old 60 W bulb — enough to light an entrance, steps or a section of driveway beneath it.
4000 K is neutral white light with no yellow cast, and the colour rendering index is Ra 80. The manufacturer states a ULOR of 0%: no light is emitted above the horizontal, so it does not shine into upstairs windows or the sky. The light is not dimmable — it works on/off only and is not connected to a dimmer. Module lifetime is given as over 50,000 hours (L70).
Protection and safety
IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so the light can hang on an unsheltered wall. The safety-glass window is rated IK06 for impact resistance, and the body is sealed with a silicone gasket and an EPDM cable gland. The light is protection class I, so it must be connected to the protective earth conductor.
