NORLYS Lillehammer 1583BL is a black outdoor wall light that sends two narrow beams upwards and downwards. Its rectangular cast-aluminium housing has a powder-coated RAL 9005 finish, with optical safety-glass covers. The BL article suffix identifies the black version, not the graphite GR finish.

A vertical accent rather than broad illumination

Two LED modules provide warm-white light at 3000 K. The optics produce a 4° beam in each direction, highlighting wall surfaces and architectural details instead of spreading light widely across the surroundings. This makes the fitting relevant to façade lighting on houses, hotels and restaurants, or to suitable mounting walls beside balconies and terraces. Its defining function is the narrow vertical light pattern.

When comparing brightness, distinguish the manufacturer's two flux figures: the LED sources deliver a combined 1008 lm, while the light leaving the complete luminaire is rated at 30 lm. The source figure should not be treated as the fitting's usable output. Choosing this model for broad general lighting solely on the basis of 1008 lm would therefore be misleading. Total luminaire power consumption is 7.3 W; the light sources themselves are rated at 5.6 W.

Size and architectural form

The body measures 18.5 cm high and 8 cm wide, with an 11 cm projection from the wall. Before installation, compare these dimensions with the available façade area and check the wall space above and below where the beams will appear. Plain planes and the absence of decorative arms support modern, modernist and minimalist schemes.

Dimming and professional maintenance

The fitting operates on 220–240 V and supports trailing-edge phase dimming (TE). Select controls for this specific dimming method rather than assuming compatibility with any dimmer. The documentation confirms IP65 protection and an IK08 impact rating.

Installation and replacement of the LED modules or control gear must be carried out by a qualified person. The manual specifies a cable diameter of 7–10.5 mm and warns that piercing the seal with tools damages its protection. A replaceable source here does not mean a user-replaceable bulb.
