Norlys Nora 2473 LED outdoor wall light 15.3 W 3000 K DALI2 satin glass corten steel colour IP65

The Norlys Nora 2473CS is a flat, square outdoor wall light in cast aluminium, powder-coated in a corten-steel colour – a rusty brown close to RAL 8011. Light leaves through two openings, up and down, via satin safety glass that diffuses it. Two LED modules are built in, so there are no bulbs to buy.

Size and fixing

The fitting measures 13 × 13 cm and projects only 5 cm from the wall, so it fits a narrow pillar or the side of a door frame. It is screwed on through two ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm. The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and the round-sheathed cable should be 7–10.5 mm in diameter. Five terminals leave room for live, neutral, earth and the two DALI control wires, and the supply can be looped on to the next fitting (up to 5 × 1.5 mm²).

According to the manufacturer's card, one circuit breaker carries up to 46 of these fittings on B 10 A, 74 on B 16 A, 74 on C 10 A and 119 on C 16 A. The figures account for the brief 6.7 A inrush current, which can trip a breaker on a long row of lights. Protection class I means an earth conductor is required; IP65 and IK09 impact resistance allow mounting on a wall with no canopy.

What light it gives

Drawing 15.3 W, the fitting delivers 613 lm at 3000 K, a warm white, with half of the output going upwards (ULOR 50%). The satin glass softens the streaks on the wall – the same fitting with clear glass (Nora 2470) gives 1103 lm but a sharper light pattern. Colour rendering is CRI 80 and the light source's energy class is C.

Control and dimming run on DALI2, which needs a DALI controller; an ordinary phase dimmer cannot replace it. Norlys rates the LED modules at L80 above 102,000 hours and L90 above 52,600 hours, and the driver at 100,000 hours.

Where it fits

Norlys intends the Nora for lighting walls and facades. The flat, geometric body without ornament suits modern and Scandinavian architecture, and the rusty colour works well with timber, concrete and brick.
