NORLYS Ski 1392GA outdoor wall light, hot-dip galvanised, LED 5.2 W 3000 K, dimmable

Ski 1392GA is a wedge-shaped outdoor LED wall light: a flat back plate against the wall, a sloping front and a diffuser underneath through which the light falls downwards. The front and base are hot-dip galvanised steel — unpainted, with the matte, mottled grey of zinc visible in the photos. The luminaire is 20 cm wide, 13 cm high and projects 13.5 cm from the wall.

How much light, and what kind

The wall light draws 5.2 W and delivers 346 lm, which is 66.5 lm/W. At 3000 K the light is a warm white, CRI 80 renders the colours of facades and plants accurately, and SDCM3 means several fittings on one wall shine in the same shade. The clear, textured diffuser of UV-stabilised polycarbonate spreads the light in a downward half-sphere. ULOR 0% and the BUG rating B0-U1-G0 mean nothing shines upwards — the fitting lights the wall below it and the path beside it, not the sky.

Dimming, power supply and service

The luminaire is phase-dimmable, but only with trailing-edge (TE) control, so an RC-type dimmer is needed. The LED module and the driver are replaced by a professional service; the manufacturer offers the ZS1392 service kit. Norlys rates the module at L80B20 over 72,000 h and L90B10 over 64,000 h, and the driver at 50,000 h.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and further wall lights can be looped through (up to 3 × 1.5 mm²), which simplifies the wiring when several fittings go on one facade. The gland accepts a cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. Protection class I requires an earth connection.

Installation and durability

The wall light is screwed to the wall through two ø4.2 mm holes spaced 122 mm apart; it weighs 0.94 kg. IP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction, and IK09 a high resistance to impact. Installation should be carried out by a qualified person.

Norlys intends Ski for general and decorative lighting of walls and facades; in our catalogue it is listed for facades, gardens, hotels and restaurants. The plain, unornamented body is a modern, minimalist form. The same luminaire is also available in black (1392BL).
