Norlys Vasa 455AL is an outdoor wall light that directs diffuse light upwards. Its rounded housing is powder-coated cast aluminium in the aluminium-coloured RAL 9006 finish, paired with a transparent, textured polycarbonate cover. This is the 4000 K LED version, rather than a fitting that emits light in both upward and downward directions.

Plan around the wall above the fitting

The upward hemispherical distribution is intended to illuminate wall surfaces and architectural features. When choosing a position on a façade, terrace wall or balcony wall, consider the area above the fitting: this is where its light is directed. It should not be planned as a downward-facing light for the ground beneath it. The intended wall effect, not simply the position of an existing cable outlet, should guide placement.

A colour temperature of 4000 K gives neutral white light. The complete luminaire delivers 457 lm while drawing 6 W. Norlys also specifies 799 lm for the LED source itself, but that is not the output of the assembled wall light. Use the luminaire figure when comparing complete fittings; source output and luminaire output describe different stages of the lighting system.

Housing size and architectural character

The housing measures 31 × 12.5 × 15.5 cm. Compare these dimensions with the available wall area and adjacent corners or façade details before installation. Its smooth curved front and absence of decorative framing suit modern and minimalist architecture. The RAL 9006 aluminium colour describes a coated finish, not bare aluminium.

The polycarbonate cover is UV-stabilised. The fitting is rated IP65 and IK08, and the documented construction includes a silicone seal and an EPDM cable gland. These details do not remove the need to follow the sealing instructions during installation.

Connection, dimming and servicing

The LED module and electronic power supply are included; there is no separate screw-base bulb to choose. Both trailing-edge and leading-edge phase dimming are supported, so controls must be planned around that method. This class I luminaire operates on 220–240 V. Installation and replacement of the light source or control gear require a qualified professional. The manual specifies a cable with a round outer cross-section, 7–10.5 mm in diameter. Correct entry through the seal is necessary to maintain the stated ingress protection.
